This book is the result of the photographer André François expedition throughout the five regions of Brazil. The documentary brings the record of the humanization and care in hospitals, health centers and among health teams.
Originally published in 2006, Caring – A documentary about humane medical care in Brazil, now it’s available as an app for your iPad. This edition features video interviews with the author, making of and other curiosities of the stories.
In each one of the 17 institutions visited, François looked for stories of “enlightened” health professionals. They are doctors, nurses and caregivers who bring the care to their everyday actions and humanize the relationships inside the infirmaries of this huge country.
These sensitive images document the challenges and achievements of the health teams from different realities, widen up the reflection about humanization and inspiring new actions which may offer tenderness and dignity to these professionals routine.
